The Wabi Vase, Big – Birch by 101 Copenhagen is a sculptural ceramic vase inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi – finding beauty in irregularity and the imperfect. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl, the vase has a generous, organic shape with soft, uneven contours that feel calm and natural.

At Numa Home, we see Wabi Big as a statement piece: a large ceramic vase that works beautifully on the floor by a window, next to a sofa, or in a spacious hallway. The Birch colour – a warm off-white tone – gives the piece an earthy, soothing presence and blends easily with wood, stone and neutral textiles in Dutch and Turkish interiors.

Each vase is made from ceramic and hand-glazed, creating a matte surface with subtle variations in tone and texture. No two pieces are exactly the same. The inside is finished with a waterproof lacquer, so Wabi is 100% waterproof and suitable for fresh flowers as well as branches or dried arrangements.

The Wabi collection consists of several sizes; Big is the large, floor-standing version that brings a strong, grounding element to the room.
