The Medusa Vase, Big by 101 Copenhagen is a sculptural ceramic vase inspired by the soft, organic shapes of a jellyfish. The rounded body and gentle oval curves rest on a cluster of small conical legs, recalling delicate tentacles and lifting the vase slightly above the surface.

The result is a vase that feels both light and grounded: calm enough to blend into a minimal interior, yet strong enough to work as a statement piece on its own. At Numa Home, we love Medusa as an object for consoles, sideboards and dining tables in modern Dutch and Turkish homes, as well as boutique hotels and galleries. It works beautifully with branches, dried flowers or simply as a sculptural centrepiece.

Each Medusa vase is made of ceramic and hand-glazed, which creates a rich, textured surface. Colour and finish vary slightly from piece to piece, adding depth and character and fitting perfectly with a wabi-sabi, natural aesthetic. The vase is not completely waterproof, so for fresh flowers we recommend using the included inner bag or a separate glass container.

Production: The Medusa vases are cast in ceramic and hand-glazed to achieve a unique surface texture. The glaze is applied by hand, so small variations in colour and structure are part of the design and make every piece slightly different.

Surface: Soft, matte glaze with a slightly textured, organic feel – inspired by the oval body and tentacles of a jellyfish

Care: Use a soft dry cloth for regular cleaning
Avoid household cleaners and products containing acid or harsh chemicals
Do not use abrasive sponges or sharp objects on the glaze
